Yes, I'm finally equipped to clog up everyone's mailboxes with lit pieces which 99% of recipients won't ever bother to read. Yay!
This is the kind of spontaneous publicity--your name in print--that makes people. I’m in print! Things are going to start happening to me now!
In all seriousness, I’ve spent the past month or so getting all the logistical, financial, legal etc. ducks in a row, along with mainly fundraising. Currently it’s mostly about hosting and attending campaign kickoff events for myself and other local candidates (my own kickoff was a week and a half ago, and went pretty well).
Next week is when the actual campaign part of the campaign starts: Canvassing. Several hours a day, pretty much every day, right up through November. I have no primary opponent (yay!), so it’s a clear path straight through the next 4 ½ months. The other major action, of course, is the Lit Mailings. I’m planning on keeping things simple by using the same lit piece to hand out when I canvass that I’ll also be mailing out (see above...and yes, I remembered the union bug).
Oh, there is one other interesting tidbit: I’ll be participating in an open candidate forum next week. It’ll be myself and both of my potential GOP opponents...along with the 2 GOP candidates from the next county commission district over (they’re combining the 12th and 13th districts for the forum).
Since my Democratic counterpart in the 13th district will be unable to participate (she’s out of town next week), that means the table is gonna include 4 Republicans...and me. gulp.
Anyway, so many folks here have contributed to the campaign that I figured I should keep you up to date on the latest happenings. Thanks again to everyone.
