The internet truth-seeking entity known as Anonymous is messing with ISIS and ISIS-related Twitter accounts in a big, bad, funny way.
Over the last year, Anonymous has claimed to have exposed tens of thousands of Twitter accounts that were related to ISIS. Of course the Twitter folks are taking credit for suspending the accounts,a and did not admit that the account were actually hacked by Anons, reports SanFranciscoCBSLocal.com.
This week, Anonymous hacker @WauchulaGhost got into more ISIS accounts and “infused them with gay pride and gay pornography.” This comes after the tragic Orlando massacre Sunday, where over 100 people were gunned down leaving, so far, 49 dead and over 50 wounded. The gunman Omar Mateen is allegedly linked to ISIS.
The hackavist know as @WauchulaGhosthas has apparently been hacking pro-Islamic State accounts since at least March 2015. Here is one of his/her tweets this week.
Jacked by a a Ghost
Hello World. It’s time I share a little secret… I’m Gay and Proud!! #GayPride #OrlandWillNotBeForgotten!!!! #GhostofNoNation
On Monday they started to “infiltrate pro-ISIS accounts and then post images of rainbow flags, non-graphic gay pornography and slogans such as ‘I’m gay and I’m proud.’“ On Wednesday, @WauchulaGhouse also took over Twitter account @islamsunna111, with an IP address in Oman, and peppered that account with slogans such as “Make love, not war” and “#MoreSex #LessDeath #ISIS #ISIL #IslamicState.”
The pro-ISIS accounts that were hacked were all renamed “Jacked by a Ghost” and most linked to CIA.gov. While some of the hacked accounts have been suspended, some still exist.
It’s surprising and pretty sad that any account on Twitter with even the slightest hint of being related to ISIS would be able to stay up. And it’s sad that America’s freedom of speech often allows it. But it’s really awesome how Anonymous continues to harass, mock and expose ISIS-related accounts. Cheers Anonymous! More please.
