I have two reasons, and only two reasons, for disliking Tim Canova, the man who is Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s primary challenger. But they are HUGE reasons.
First, according to WaPo:
Much of Canova’s campaign literature emphasizes his opposition to the nuclear agreement with Iran, a position shared by many in the district’s large and active Jewish population. Wasserman Schultz backed the deal.
“She’s Jewish; I’m not. But I’ve had a Jewish stepdad for 40 years, and I was a volunteer on a kibbutz. . . . And she voted for the Iran agreement,” he said. “Either she got duped by [Obama deputy national security adviser] Ben Rhodes or she was in on it.”
In other words, he is attacking DWS from the right on one of the most consequential foreign policy issues of the day, using exactly the kind of language that a RWNJ would use.
Second, from his Twitter feed today:
Anybody who can’t deal honestly with simple realities has no business seeking high office in the Democratic Party. And this guy is clearly happy and proud to broadcast delusions that fly in the face of verifiable data. Which is also straight out of the Republican playbook.
I’m no fan of DWS. But this guy is embarrassing.
