In effect, these genius anti-Clinton Benghazi "investigators" have actually cleared Hillary Clinton of any charges of incompetence or wrongdoing. All they have managed to produce is a miserably partisan political claim: that Obama and Clinton could have handled that crisis better.
Of course that’s a fatuous criticism that could be said of the handling of any crisis, anywhere, any time. But Reps. Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, herald this mealy-mouth, extraordinarily expensive "finding" as if it is: "damning! Hoo, boy, what a finding, you betcha! We Republicans used millions of your money and find these Dems...baaaad!!!" This, after pissing away taxpayer millions, and the time and resources of all those federal officials who should have been, you know, working...
But who did these two idiot Republicans choose as example of leaders who could have handled it better than Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama?
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Look:
The committee contrasts the level of administration engagement with the famous picture of the Obama war cabinet pictured in a Situation Room annex during the raid to kill Osama bin Laden.
"Benghazi should have merited the same level of attention and urgency," the excerpts from the analysis said.
That's right: Pompeo and Jordan cite a picture of the same two leaders they are trying to smear and discredit--Clinton and Obama--as the classic example of effective leadership during a crisis. (Incredible. We’re *paying* for brains like Pompeo’s and Jordan’s, you know.)
Of course there were other options for an "ideal crisis leadership" photo. Pompeo and Jordan could have referenced a photo of "Abraham Lincoln, saving America during the Civil War.” Or they could have cited "photos of leaders George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, closely monitoring al Qaeda during the run up to the September 11 attacks or wisely seeing America through the Katrina disaster.” Or they could have pointed to "a photo of Pompeo and Jordan, sitting around a campfire, engaged in conservative talk radio mutual jerking off at taxpayer expense for years on end" as examples of truly effective leadership on international and national security.
But they took the safer public relations path and made the concession to reality, They went with that photo of Clinton and Obama instead: for their iconic example of truly effective American leadership. And so conservative Republican Congressmen Pompeo and Jordan remind us that there are such things as admirable, engaged leaders in America, leaders who can actually beat down terrorists, and can do so even when countless conservative talk radio jerks like Pompeo and Jordan are trying to destroy such leaders and remove them from office...so they can replace them with grasping, irresponsible, incompetent Republican dumbasses, hacks, and bigots.
So, soooo stupid. So stupid that they can't even see the irony. But WE paid millions, just so they could show us that picture of what politically effective leadership looks like...again.
