Basically, on June 7th, the Michigan court of appeals decided that an ill-gotten 3% “retirement health care” tax that was taken out of all Michigan public school teachers’ pay checks was, in fact, illegal.
The State of Michigan was ordered to return this money ($550 million currently in escrow) with interest, to the people it belongs to.
But Rick Snyder needs all the money he can get to pay his Flint legal bills fund the future retirement health care coffers, so he will appeal to the Michigan Supreme Court. The same court that already kicked it back down to the appeals court and said deal with it there.
Not joining him in his petulant temper tantrum is the equally odious Attorney General, Bill Schuette. I mean, he has to run for Governor in 2018. It is time to look “moderate.”
