As a dog, I have lots of time to pay attention to the world around me, and I like to think I’m pretty observant.
I keep my ears perked up, and my ears are pretty big.
One thing I’ve been noticing lately is that Mike Pence’s VP run has opened up some interesting possibilities in Indiana. One cool possibility is that a candidate who truly represents me, veterinarian and Democrat Angela Demaree, now has much better odds than is usually seen in this safely Republican District (IN5th). Her Republican opponent for the district, Congresswoman Susan Brooks, has dropped out of the race in order to run for governor of Indiana, which means that Demaree currently has no Republican opponent. Some Republican may jump in to oppose her, but the momentum is currently hers. That puts a smile on my face!
It’s a really great time to donate to her Act Blue page or consider volunteering to help her campaign. You could also like her Facebook page and support her by getting the word out. Let your friends know what she’s about.
As Ms. Demaree’s points out on her Facebook page, Indiana had the worst turnout in the country in 2014. Its repressive voter ID law is working exactly as intended.
It’s time to push back and to get people informed about some of things that make me want to support Angela.
-Like me, she supports small business.
-She supports improvements upon the Affordable Care Act, so that Americans can get good health care when they’re sick.
-She believes in civil rights for all, even my wacky kitten friend who sticks his tongue out sometimes.
-And she cares about protecting the environment that I love so much through clean energy plans.
Like most woozles, I really like snow; climate change bums me out.
Please do what you can to support Angela Demaree for Congress!
Peace out,
Thistle
