July was a very big month for Hillary Clinton, a $90 million month.
The campaign began August with more than $58 million on hand, with the average July donation coming in at $44 and 54 percent of the last month's contributions coming from new donors. […]
Of the nearly $90 million raised, Clinton's campaign said around $63 million went to the campaign directly, while $26 million was raised for the Democratic National Committee and various state parties. Donald Trump's campaign has not yet released its monthly fundraising totals, though the Republican nominee himself put the total for the campaign without joint fundraising agreements at $35.8 million during a Monday campaign event in Ohio.
Trump didn't just drop that in to remarks, he bragged about it.
"It's gonna be announced tomorrow or the next day: we've raised, we think, about $35.8 million. This is unheard of for Republicans, $35.8 million," Trump said.
In case you're wondering, Mitt Romney raised $101 million in July, 2012. So not so much unheard of.
