I guess a few districts were competing to see who could send the worst person to Congress. No state should have to play this, but tell me: which one is the worst?
WI-District 7
Sean Duffy was a reality show goofball who figured out that he could work even less and make more as a Republican in Congress. He is the one who gained infamy for once telling a severely underemployed construction worker that he was actually much better off than Duffy because, although he only made $174,000, he couldn’t manage money and had a lot of debt. This is the excuse he picked to explain to the poor man why he was voting to drastically cut the salary of his wife, who made the horrible mistake of being a teacher in Wisconsin.
These days, Duffy has been keeping himself busy by being a Trump surrogate. He's so awful that he peddles ridiculous, right-wing conspiracy theories about Clinton's supposed bad health, because he once saw her have a "coughing fit." He actually argued with the CNN anchor that a coughing fit makes her unfit to be president ... and that was before he launched into a tirade about her being an "editor" of a "Sharia Newspaper":
Poor judgment. Poor character. It's what allows him to take money from big bankers while seeing no conflict of interest as the chair of the House Financial Services Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
Since this “bro”-congressman likes to cut teachers’ salaries, it would be fitting if he lost to a woman who spent her career as a teacher. Please help make that happen. This district is rated R+2, but his shenanigan are wearing thin.

WI-District 6:
Yeah, Duffy was bad. But here is candidate number 2. Glenn Grothman. You think there is a war on women? He insists the real war is the “War on Men.” He openly stated that photo ID in Wisconsin was put in place to stop Hillary Clinton. He said Pakistani and Filipino immigrants walk around with a “chip on their shoulder.”
He voted to cut kindergarten funding because he falsely claimed that early education doesn't matter.
And he opposes sex education, because it turns you gay. He stated his intellectual argument:
Did people even know what homosexuality was in high school in 1975? I don't remember any discussion about that at the time. There were a few guys who would make fun of a few effeminate boys, but that’s a different thing than homosexuality.
Yup. No one was homosexual in the 70s cuz no one was allowed to talk about it.
How is it that a district that Obama won, and was represented by a moderate republican who was a member of the NAACP, is now represented by this extremist nutbag?
Sarah Lloyd is his opponent for the upcoming election. She is progressive and already has several Kossack fans. Her resume is very impressive. She is a teacher, dairy farmer, and activist. She has a lot of prior political experience, and is very well known in the community because of her fierce advocacy for the citizens she now seeks to represent.
Kossack Besame has a great writeup on Sarah, along with many links to help with her campaign. This is a winnable seat for us.
WI-District 8:
As an added bonus, District 8 is an open seat. It is currently ranked as a complete tossup. (Seriously, Duffy and Grothman shouldn’t even be close … but THIS is the tossup?)
The republican is Mike Gallagher, who is a former advisor of Scott Walker, and a big Trump backer in a region that isn't much of a fan. Although 50 GOP national security officials signed a letter saying Trump “would be the most reckless President in American history,” Mike Gallagher continues to not only stand by his stated support for Donald Trump, he even suggests he should start naming his foreign policy team.
He faces Tom Nelson, a sensible politician who served as a county executive and state legislator.
This is a race where every little bit helps … so let’s help Tom Nelson put Congress back in blue.
