Campaign Action
So as you've probably heard by now, this happened.
A founder of the Latinos for Trump group on Thursday warned that without Donald Trump in the White House, there would be “taco trucks on every corner” in America.
“My culture is a very dominant culture,” the Mexican-born Marco Gutierrez said on MSNBC’s “All In With Chris Hayes.” “It is imposing and it’s causing problems. If you don’t do something about it, you’re going to have taco trucks on every corner.”
And thus was born the strangest anti-immigration threat ever dispatched in service of a candidate: Vote for Donald Trump ...
... or there will be too many tacos.
Tacos will become too available. Too plentiful. You will want tacos, on some breezy summer night, and tacos will be within your grasp.
Because Mexican culture is just so "dominant," so "imposing," that it cannot help but overwhelm the much better but far more fragile American culture, and the way this is going to play out is ... the tacos.
I give up. I'm convinced now: Donald Trump is pranking us all. Donald Trump, his advisers, his surrogates, and every last interviewed support has been pulling our legs this whole time. There is simply no damn way this is an actual presidential campaign.
