That’s the headline of a good article on the NY Times landing page today. Author: Justin Gillis

Subhead: Scientists’ warnings that the rise of the sea would eventually imperil the United States’ coastline are no longer theoretical.
What makes this article good is the avoidance of verbal qualifiers regarding Global Warming. That’s a big step forward in talking about the situation we’re in. For instance, the title is a great example of the way to talk about Global Warming.
There is none of the “most scientists agree” language.
The next paragraph is just as strong:
For decades, as the global warming created by human emissions caused land ice to melt and ocean water to expand, scientists warned that the accelerating rise of the sea would eventually imperil the United States’ coastline.
That is the way to talk about Global Warming. The left could learn from that example.
Talk about as you would about gravity, gamma rays or a round Earth. There is no doubt. Do not try to convince people that can’t see the reality.
Would you try to convince them of the reality of gravity? Would you drag out scientific articles? No. You would tell them they are not seeing the world as it really exists. That’s the approach to take.
There are Three Facts to repeat over and over to people living in the non-Global Warming fantasy world.
1. It is real. 2. There is no doubt. 3. It is caused by humanity.
Just like smoking causes lung cancer — there is no doubt. Could you find an isolated “scientist” that would disagree? Sure! Does that mean there is a doubt? No. Keep returning to the Three Facts and pound that into their brains.
I’ll close with this sweet quote from the NY Times article.
“It’s not a hundred years off — it’s now.” William V. Sweet, a scientist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
