For the first time in a month, I’m spending a full weekend at home. The whole summer has been a bit peripatetic, but now that classes have restarted, we’ll be staying in one place for a while. A little bit more below the fold...
But first, a word from our sponsor!

Last week, we were in southeastern Pennsylvania. The week before that, we were in central Ontario, Canada. The week before that, I had a professional meeting to attend in Philadelphia. The week before that, my nephew got married near Charlottesville, Virginia.
Travel is very exciting, and I learn new things in new places. But it gets to be a bit wearing when you spend so much time away from home. I have the cold comfort of a brand new pile of grading to do over the weekend, but at least I’ll be staring at it from the comfort of home.
Summer is my favorite season, and the freedom to travel is one of the reasons I love the summer. However, for the next few weeks, at least, I will enjoy becoming a stick-in-the-mud again. I’m sure I’ll become stir-crazy again in November, but for the time being, home is the best place.
Now, on to the comments!
