Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton spoke out forcefully on the recent police killings of black men in Tulsa and Charlotte. But Repulican presidential nominee Donald Trump? Not so much. According to the co-chair of Trump’s national diversity coalition, Brunell Donald-Kyei, it’s because he’s waiting to get all the facts. Asked by CNN’s Chris Cuomo why Trump was “uncharacteristically” silent about the shootings when he comments on everything else, Donald-Kyei said:
“I believe that Mr. Trump, like all Americans are waiting to find out what the actual facts are,” Donald-Kyei insisted. “The police have to do their investigations and talk to the officer and different things like that. So we definitely have to let the police do their investigation and get to the bottom of this.”
In other words, Trump wants to know what he’s talking about before he opens his mouth on this subject.
Too bad that’s not his modus operandi every other time his lips are moving.
