First thing this morning I found this in my inbox.
A couple months ago I had signed up to get tickets for one of his rallies, which I didn’t attend. I figured this would get me on his list of most ardent (or rabid?) supporters. Of course, this is exactly the group you would poll when you want an objective, unvarnished assessment of your performance.
This afternoon, expect Donald Trump to announce that a major poll reveals that he won the debate overwhelmingly.
And then, about two hours later, I received a fundraising email containing the following:
Today, I’m writing to urgently ask you to take your support of the campaign to the next level. We want to add your name to our all-important last quarterly fundraising report of the campaign.
You see, Mr. Trump is counting on you – and millions of other fed up patriots like you – as he takes on the Clinton campaign machine, the corrupt political establishment, the special interests and the lying liberal media.
And this is the best opportunity you have to get more involved and show the world you’re taking a stand against Crooked Hillary.
Mr. Trump has committed up to $2 million to match all contributions we receive in advance of the final FEC quarterly reporting deadline of this campaign – coming up fast at MIDNIGHT on Friday, September 30th.
So, three days before the end of the quarterly fundraising reporting period, the notoriously cheap Trump is willing to put up $2 million of his own money (or Trump charitable foundation money) to match contributions.
Sounds like Trump has some embarrassing fundraising numbers to report.
