The Debate Commission, ABC and CNN are gathering questions from the public to ask in the next debate on October 9th, which will be a town hall type debate. They supposedly are going to weight them by how many times the question is asked along with total number of votes and assess the top 30 as potential questions. In order to submit a question and/or vote, one must register. Here is the website:
presidentialopenquestions.com
I checked it out and while there are some really good questions there are others that are obviously based on CT or false information or have a definite BoB or Right Wing bent. Below are some examples of some of the highest vote getters. There is a question and a supporting statement for each of them. After putting these questions up, I checked the site again, and the top vote getters are changing regularly.
How do you plan to reduce the size of government and the National Debt? Obama increased the debt in a reckless manner.
How can you show America that you are not corrupted by donations? One candidate in particular has troubling donations that suggest a play to pay disposition. This country cannot afford someone not looking after America's interests first.
Why do we continue to provide aid to countries that are obviously NOT our allies? I can see NO reason to give my tax dollars to countries that are NOT our allies. The classic example is Pakistan, which blatently hid Osama Bin Ladin within a mile of their military academy.
Would you be willing to either repeal or repair/rework the Affordable Care Act? I am a self-employed 61-year-old healthy individual and cannot afford the ACA policy the government has decided I should have.
If elected will you secure the border? I live in the border state of Arizona and I do not feel safe.
How would you change the tax code to encourage companies to remain in the US? We want companies to stay here so jobs stay here.
Do you support the constitution of the United States as it is written? Are you willing to defend the rights of Americans as granted to them by the constitution as written? We to know the intentions of our candidates with regards to our rights as Americans
How will you ensure the 2nd amendment is protected? Too much crime is blamed on the tool, not the person. How will you protect law abiding citizens to protect themselves.
I have no idea how ABC and CNN are going to wade through all these. They are going to end up with thousands of questions and many will never see the light of day because they will be buried.
If you have the chance, take the time to register and make your voice heard.
