Former Oklahoma City Police Officer Daniel Holtzclaw has been sentenced to 263 years in prison for the rape and sexual assault of several black women and one girl. Holtzclaw was found guilty in December of 2015 on 18 counts of rape and sexual battery, burglary and other charges. Each charge Holtzclaw was found guilty of at the time carried recommended sentences from the jury ranging from 5 years, 8 years, 16 years, 20 years, etc., to a total of 263 years. Those recommendations were accepted and Holtzclaw’s sentence will run consecutively.
Holtclaw’s sentencing hearing began late as his attorneys had presented a motion for a new trial. The motion was based on a Facebook post by an Oklahoma City detective who says he assisted the investigation of Holtzclaw and was privy to information which proved Holtzclaw’s guilt. Holtzclaw’s attorneys felt this information had not been produced in court and should be. The officer in question, Jake McClain, testified that his Facebook post was based on things he had heard, not actually done or seen.
Motion for new trial denied.
Buh-bye, Danny Boy.
Welcome to the life you deserve.
