The problem with Paul Krugman trashing Sanders’ people-powered “theory” of change is simple: He’s totally, completely, mendaciously, dishonestly wrong. Flat-earth wrong.
When ordinary people get together to make change, nothing can stop them. That’s why the rich and powerful pay people like Clinton and Krugman so very well to keep them convinced of their powerlessness. In fact, no real change was ever made without ordinary people, like those powering the Sanders insurgency.
Paul Krugman felt passed over by the Obama administration. Now, in a flurry of cheap-shot columns and posts rehashing Clinton campaign talking points, it sure looks like he is offering himself as a hired gun so he can finally get the White House appointment he covets. What’s crazy about it is that Sanders would really have used him; Clinton can’t even pronounce his name.
