Professional gutter dweller and head of Hillary's largest SuperPAC, David Brock, today unveiled his latest swift boating attempt against Democratic Presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders, accusing him of sympathizing with communists:
Attacks on Bernie Sanders by rival Democrats are likely to turn increasingly to his record on the economy and foreign affairs, according to a new dossier seen by the Guardian that accuses him of sympathising with communists and “not believing in capitalism”.
Brock's damning… "evidence":
The dossier, prepared by opponents of Sanders and passed on to the Guardian by a source who would only agree to be identified as “a Democrat”, alleges that Sanders “sympathized with the USSR during the Cold War” because he went on a trip there to visit a twinned city while he was mayor of Burlington.
Similar “associations with communism” in Cuba are catalogued alongside a list of quotes about countries ranging from China to Nicaragua in a way that supporters regard as bordering on the McCarthyite rather than fairly reflecting his views.
As is the norm from Mr. Brock, pure garbage— and an excellent reminder of why politics suck, at least the “dirty politics” that have dominated the scene for so long now.
And this all goes to my point: if integrity and truthful Information are “the lifeblood of Democracy"— as many of the Founders of this country said — then isn’t intentionally feeding the American people "misinformation" an attempt at poisoning that lifeblood ?
Isn’t someone who seeks to misinform the public, by definition, one of Democracy’s biggest enemies?
Of course, being the poster boy of amorality, our longtime smear artist isn’t interested in such philosophy, or consistency, or anything other than getting his way, it seems. Nope, Mr. Brock just wants to kick out a constant stream of garbage— because that’s what operatives do, try to undermine actual Democracy for personal profit.
Yesterday's unburdened-by-conscience attack on Bernie:
[Bernie’s latest] ad features images of his rallies as Simon and Garfunkel's "America" plays. The people featured in the commercial are overwhelmingly white, with only a handful minority faces shown.
“From this ad, it seems black lives don’t matter much to Bernie Sanders,” Brock said in an interview with the Associated Press.
Good Lord, is their is no depth this man will not plumb in his quest for his cut of victory loot?
Thankfully, Bernie and his team are there to counterbalance all of this amorality with their usual fresh breath of honesty:
The Vermont senator has also ridiculed suggestions – repeated by the attack dossier – that his policies would see nationalisation of US industries.
“I don’t believe government should take over the grocery store down the street or own the means of production,” he said during a speech at Georgetown University. “But I do believe that the middle class and the working families who produce the wealth of America deserve a decent standard of living and that their incomes should go up, not down. I do believe in private companies that thrive and invest and grow in America, companies that create jobs here, rather than companies that are shutting down in America and increasing their profits by exploiting low-wage labor abroad.”
And:
“Bernie Sanders, as everyone knows, has one of the strongest civil rights records in Congress. He doesn’t need lectures on civil rights and racial issues from David Brock, the head of a Hillary Clinton Super Pac,” responded Briggs in his statement.
Last word goes to truth— in other words, it goes to Bernie:
“One of the reasons our campaign is doing well is because we are treating the American people as if they are intelligent human beings,” added the senator in the lake resort town of Wolfeboro.

Damned straight, Bernie! these operatives-- and those they work on the behalf of-- they think the American people are so dumb that they’ll fall for this obvious swiftboating effort.
Screw ‘em! The David Brocks of this world, these mercenaries of the political realm— just what do they value? it sure isn’t Democracy. Only themselves and the shiny objects that their lack of basic decency can acquire, it would seem.
Just how sad is that— for both them and our country?
