So, I was just invited to join the rolls of “ Kosack” kind today and…..I think (insert thought-bubble here) “What am I passionate about enough to write about on DailyKos?????” Insert fairly longish pause here… And here we go.
I’ve been a more-or-less liberal for the last 30 years or so (must come clean & say that I listened to trash-mouth Linbaugh a few times in the 80’s—but I soon had enough of him even then...).
I am a Open-Source advocate & Linux user and have had a home that is Linux-only for 10+ years now….NO Windoze or Mac OS for personal use here. I do fix computers for a side-job, but try to convert as many people as I can to a safer way of computing….I guess I’m as committed to freedom in my computing preferences as my thought process in general?
Just interested in how many of you have thought about the silent thief that is sitting in front of you? Do you just type away with Redmond silently watching in the background? I hope that those of you that read this, if not knowing about Linux before this---will wander the Internet with an open mind and check out some of the alternatives like Linux Mint, Ubuntu (please enlighten yourself with what that name stands for!!), Debian or some of the outstanding other operating systems that are out there. If you make Linux your friend--windoze things like viruses, worms and trojans will become thugs in your past. I commend distrowatch.com to any who are open to it.
OK—that being said—you might guess that I “tend” to passionate about personal freedom, right to free speech and object to the thoughts of “Sheep-people” (hereafter known as sheeple). I like to think out of the box — try to NOT follow the lines unless I REALLY need to (driving comes to mind) and tend to be a non-religious, science-based person in general.
Hmmmm—not TOO bad for a first outing at a blog—a bit heavy-handed, but all-in-all I hope this is read by more than 1~2 people :)
Please comment and vote—I’m interested to hear what you think.
