I thought it would be a good idea to fact-check Maine Gov. Paul LePage’s claims that gentlemen named D-Money, Smoothie, and Shifty are making trips to Maine to sell heroin and impregnate white women. These are very serious claims, especially given the heroin crisis, and the interstate trafficking alone would bring down multiple felonies upon each of these ruffians. But we can’t just take LePage’s word for it.
First, we need to find out who these mysterious rogues are. The only Shifty that can be located easily is Crazy Town frontman Seth Brooks Binzer, otherwise known as Shifty Shellshock. While Shifty Shellshock did appear on two seasons of Celebrity Rehab and Sober House for numerous addictions, including crack cocaine, it is not evident that he ever trafficked drugs, including heroin. He also does not live in Connecticut, as LePage claims.
So far, the only evidence I have of an individual nicknamed D-Money is the riveting rap video linked below. This particular D-Money might not be one we are looking for, but he does allude to a number of felonies, including “murking your family tree” after 24 hours. However, this video appears to be from Benson, North Carolina, and again, LePage claims that D-Money currently resides in Connecticut. I am working to verify D-Money’s identity. WARNING: This video has lots of cursing and stuff.
Smoothie, a very SEO-unfriendly nickname, has been so far untraceable.
So, we need your help. If you know any D-Moneys, Smoothies, or Shiftys or have any information on the aforementioned individuals, please let us know in the comments.
