Knowing I’ve been rather obsessed with hummingbirds, I was sent a few plants (okay, three boxes full!) from Texas to help me along the way. I’d like to happily report — it worked! As fall begins and I’m seeing the hummers using my yard as a stopover as they’re migrating south, the Texas transplants are still in bloom, providing nectar to hungry hummingbirds.
Here are some of the plants as modeled by this weeks passing hummer:
Current critter shots (not modeling any Texas transplants, but I’m sure they, too have been lured by that Texas swag in the garden):
And I’m releasing the last of the monarchs with the outdoor ones also still emerging and fluttering about the garden.
So there’s the mish-mash diary for today!
What’s mashing up in your gardens?
ps — hat tip to jayden… my secret Texas plant source! ;-)
