Keeping the Senate Blue in 2018 is important no matter who wins the presidency. Senator Tammy Baldwin is up for a re-elect. Even if your a registered Democrat you have to think who has the best chance to beat her. In 2012 she beat former Governor Tommy Thompson 51%-45%. The last Republican to have this seat is Joe McCarthy.
Let us look at some candidates.
Scott Walker - Governor of Wisconsin
Walker himself up in 2018 could make the switch over to Challenge Baldwin. Walker would be finishing up his full second term after surviving a recall effort in his first.
Brad Shimel - Attorney General
The newly elected top cop in Wisconsin has made it his priority to stop the use of heroin and internet crimes.
Rebecca Kleefisch - Lt Governor
Once considered radioactive is now Scott Walkers go to person on small business. She will also be finishing her second term as Lt. Governor.
Sean Duffy - Congressman
First Elected in 2010 Congressman Sean Duffy. Duffy has been serving on financial committees since he was first elected. He heavily opposes Obamacare.
Paul Farrow - Waukesha County Executive.
Paul took the same road as Governor Scott Walker did. Previously serving in the state Legislature.
Eric Hovde — Businessman
Hovde came in second place in 2012 Senate Primary. He is a finance executive. He may give it another shot.
