Noem claims to support “family values,” but she goes along, not only with Trump’s crudeness and bigotry, but also with his proposed bigger tax cuts for the rich at our expense. She opposes expanding health care coverage and supports a budget that shorts education — basic family needs. Apparently it’s OK that Trump the draft dodger is ready to send other people’s sons and daughters into war. No problem that he cheats his workers out of their pay. And the fact that he doesn’t pay taxes; I guess Noem agrees that that makes him smart. . . .
But here’s the kicker: Like many a pretender before her, Noem cloaks her “party before country” stance in religious garb. “I love the Lord and I believe in redemption and that people can change over the years,” she said. I’m not sure which “lord” Noem loves, but if she is referring to Jesus and the values he taught, I’m pretty sure Jesus would not condone Trump’s behavior or his morals. Does Noem consider Trump a good role model for her children?

Noem’s opponent, Paula Hawks, had just revealed that she had been sexually assaulted:
. . . in college. Sexually assaulted by a person in a position of authority, when I listened to the audio from Trump bragging about what he could do to women because of wealth and fame, it hit me extremely hard.

Kristi Noem is South Dakota’s at large U.S. Representative. From their debate:
"There's one more story that I wish to share with you. And it's something that I never would have thought I would talk about publicly. I am a survivor of sexual assault. I was raped in college by a man in a position of power over me. So I understand how devastating sexual assault can be," Paula Hawks said.
The candidates then addressed a viewer question about how they feel as women in the political arena, after recently released comments from presidential candidate Donald Trump. . . .
"I've seen for years her put herself before her country over and over again, and that's not acceptable to me. So I'll vote for Donald Trump. I don't defend him or what he's said, but the 30 years of actions by Hillary Clinton are simply unacceptable," Noem said.

Sartorial note: Congresswoman Noem is wearing a blouse with a “pussy” bow collar. And, not only is Noem kittykat perfect, she has a lot of cash in the kitty, more than a $1.7MM cash advantage over Hawks: $1.8MM in the Noem kitty, compared to $122,000 cash in hand for Hawks.

Money from the Koch boys? Certainly a whopping $40,000 (by South Dakota standards) from Sanford Health, a regional corporate health provider, $13,000 from Moyle Oil, various banking concerns and associations, Heartland Values PAC, billionaire Pete Peterson who wants to kill Social Security under the aegis of Peterson Management:

Actually, I may be wrong about the Pete Peterson and Peterson Management connection, or they could be very clever in covering up their connection.
