DDoS on Dyn Impacts Twitter, Spotify, Reddit
Criminals this morning massively attacked Dyn, a company that provides core Internet services for Twitter, SoundCloud, Spotify, Reddit and a host of other sites, causing outages and slowness for many of Dyn’s customers.
White House officials said they were aware of the cyber interruptions and that the Department of Homeland Security is probing "the malicious activity," according to reports. As recently as Oct. 14, DHS officials warned that hackers have been infecting routers, printers, smart TVs and other connected devices to build powerful army "bots" that can shut down websites.
Websites such as Twitter, The Verge, and Spotify were down or had spotty service Friday due to a massive denial of service attack on the servers of Dyn, a major DNS host, which routes internet users to the correct websites.
Hmmmm..wikileaks or Russians ?
