Hillary Clinton laid out a total of $66 million on TV air time for the month of September, doubling her August investment and nearly tripling what Donald Trump shelled out—$23 million. Matea Gold writes:
Clinton spent a total of nearly $95 million through her campaign and two joint fundraising committees in September, exceeding the $85 million in campaign contributions raised through all three entities. About 27 percent of her money came from contributions of $200 or less.
When October began, she still had more in her campaign coffers than Trump: $59 million to his $34.7 million.
On the ground, Clinton's campaign infrastructure continued to eclipse Trump's a world over with 815 paid staffers last month to his 168.
But his campaign infrastructure remained tiny: Trump had just 168 people on his campaign staff, up from 131 in August, according to his latest filing. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton had 815 paid staffers last month, according to a campaign official.

Trump's main expenditures were on TV ($23 million) and digital ( $20.6 million). But his biggest new investment was dropping $5 million on voter data. Of course, he has barely any foot soldiers to actualize that information on the ground. And then there's his continued self-nepotism, if that's a thing:
Trump's campaign directed another $1 million in reimbursements to Trump companies in September, including $757,434 to Tag Air; $19,114 to the Trump National Doral Golf Resort and $182,630 to Trump Tower. In all, the campaign has paid out $9.3 million to reimburse Trump and his companies.
Perhaps that's only fair since he's poured $56 million of his own money into his miserable failure of a campaign. What a tremendous investment. The best!
