As the rats flee the sinking Trump dingy, two staunch defenders remain in Arizona: Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and former Governor Jan Brewer. That tells you something about the calibre of goonballs who’ve remained loyal to Trump: a sheriff convicted of racial profiling, and a finger-waving, empty-headed elected official who signed the racist “papers please” bill to save her 2010 election.
Arpaio, Trump’s birther brother in arms, currently trails challenger Paul Penzone by 15 points! He’s also facing a federal trial that could land his butt in the clinker.
For her part, Brewer’s been auditioning for a spot in Trump’s cabinet since he announced, and for a fleeting moment her name was even floated as a possible VP choice. Hahahahahahahahaha!!!! Sheesh, she makes Sarah Palin seem halfway coherent.
With Trump’s campaign nosediving into the footnotes of history, it’s not likely Brewer will have a spot in the next administration, so she’s all over the airwaves now auditioning for a spot on the inevitable Trump/Breitbart TV. Today, responding to the allegations of sexual assault leveled against Trump on CNN’s State of the Nation, she told Jake Tapper:
“He’s been waterboarded by these issues. It seems like it’s been somewhat of a put-up impression on Donald Trump from all these people lining up. It’s just unbelievable.”
No, here’s what’s “unbelievable”: comparing torture to Trump’s hurt feelings — comparing those who fought, were captured and tortured to a draft-dodging, privileged f*ckhead who’s only “fought” for himself.
She kept digging: Trying to explain why many people are repulsed by Trump, Brewer said, “Donald Trump is authentic and he tells it like it is.” Yeah, we saw his “authentic” self on the bus with Billy Bush, didn’t we? His authenticity jumped off the screen when he interrupted Clinton during the debates with smarmy asides like “nasty woman.” We saw the authentic Trump when he accused Mexicans of being rapists, mocked the disabled, called women fat and encouraged violence at his rallies. He seems like a really authentic guy, just like you and me, when he shits in his gold-plated toilet.
And he really “told it like it is” early on when he said he was self-funding his campaign. Or when he claimed he contributed millions to charities and paid his share of federal taxes. Or when he said over and over this week that he’s leading in the polls.
Hey Jan Brewer: Arizona’s Sen. McCain knows something about torture — you know, the guy Trump doesn’t like because he was captured (while your candidate got five deferments during the same war). I didn’t think this bottom feeding former governor could sink any lower, but calling the accusers’ sexual assault charges waterboarding, when they were the ones groped, just proves me wrong — something that Brewer, who used to be a moderate Republican, continues to do.
