Warren County’s Democratic Party headquarters in Lebanon, Ohio was vandalized this weekend. Out in front of the headquarters, a pile of manure was dumped. The Ohio Democrats’ response was just right.
This very same thing happened at the very same location back in 2012.
“At the time, we did not have a camera system, because it kind of caught us by surprise,” Bethe Goldenfield, chairwoman of the Warren County Democratic Party, said of the 2012 dump. “We didn’t think something like that would happen.”
This time, the act was caught on surveillance video that the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is now reviewing, Goldenfield said. She did not want to elaborate on what the cameras captured because it was an open investigation, but she noted that it involved a dump truck.
Here is where my favorite quote of the day comes in to play.
“And I’m not going to jump to the conclusion that it was the same person [as in 2012], but of course that crossed my mind,” Goldenfield said. “We just need to have a little more specifics, and then hopefully we’ll bring the perpetrators to be accountable.”
The Warren County Republican Party chair has pleaded innocence and offered to help clean up the mess. The Warren County Democrats say that they have been pretty successful in recent years, getting more and more people organized in a historically Republican county and that it is the rising tide of Democrats that is scaring Republican vandals more than general Donald Trumpian anger.

It looks like Lebanon police have captured their culprit! James Pinell.
The sheriff’s office said Pinell became a suspect after talking with people in the area and noting that he had a white dump truck similar to one seen dumping the manure on security cameras.
Pinell admitted to the crime, as well as a similar incident in 2012, the sheriff’s office said.
Mystery solved.
