My wife and I live here in McKinney Texas, have been for three years. Yesterday on a rare day off we decided to go downtown, enjoy some good food and wine. Downtown McKinney is the County seat for Collin County. It is a beautiful place, a town square with 100 year old plus buildings, thriving boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops. A place where you can drop off your kids on a Friday night and pick them up a few hours later and never be worried. Surrounding downtown are these glorious 100 year old homes, it seems every that other one has recently been restored or is currently being remodeled. It appears that this old neighborhood had been in decline for years. McKinney has done a wonderful job of revitalizing downtown.
So as my wife and I are driving through this old neighborhood we were visually assaulted by a wall of Trump. Literally, a wall of Trump signs. She and I both gasped, sheets of plywood painted with Trump, a multitude of yard signs, a flag pole topped with a US flag over a Texas flag over a Trump flag. At first just silence, then did you just see what I saw, then more silence, then we agreed to take a different route home.
So last night I’m checking out local news online and stumble across this headline from The Dallas Morning News ‘Two teens arrested in ongoing investigation of vandalism at Trump house in McKinney’. The homeowner goes on blah blah tyranny, blah blah, never back down, blah, when dust settles, blah, she and Trump will still be standing. To her credit she installed surveillance cameras and turned over the footage to law enforcement which led to the arrest. When a person feels threatened are you are experiencing vandalism as she was you do what she did, call the Police.
To my dismay in the comments section from LongRangeThinker:
Minor or not, criminal mischief & vandalism during the night will earn you a bullet to the face at my house. Parents, tell your kids that they can be legally executed for forking yards, toilet papering houses, and especially tagging a garage door here in Texas.
I have no words.
