"That's what young people are, they're sacred." —President Obama remarked to Standing Rock Sioux Tribe at Cannon Ball Flag Day Celebration, June 13, 2014 Transcript here …
“I know that throughout history, the United States often didn’t give the nation-to-nation relationship the respect that it deserved. So I promised when I ran to be a President who’d change that -- a President who honors our sacred trust, and who respects your sovereignty, and upholds treaty obligations, and who works with you in a spirit of true partnership, in mutual respect, to give our children the future that they deserve.”

Below see an Oceti Sakowin Camp video report of the events between October 28 and afternoon on Nov. 20 countering most reports about Hwy. 1806 Backwater bridge. It was not "protesters" who moved the first of two burned vehicles that have served to block Hwy. 1806. After the Oct. 28th raid and demolition of Treaty Camp the Morton County Sheriff told Oceti Sakowin Camp that Hwy. 1806 would reopened no later than Monday October 31st. The justification to stage the Oct. 28th raid was claimed to be that the checkpoint on the Hwy. 1806 was going to hinder Emergency Respondents and their gear.
Rather than remove the blockade as promised, the armed forces added concrete barriers, effectively closing the public roadway to all traffic for over a month. That forced Emergency Respondents to make a 45 minute detour during runs between the camps and the hospital / county sheriff in Mandan, ND.
Below is evidence of crimes against humanity — Nov. 20-21, 2016 — Digital Smoke Signals, Myron Dewey reporting police and fireman use: Percussion grenades, Chemical weapons (so-called “mace” and “tear gas” or “CS munitions”), Rubber bullets, Water canon. Percussion (stun) grenades create a risk of fire, blast and fragmentation as suffered by Sophia Wilansky who’s in critical condition undergoing a series of surgeries after being hit by a grenade during the police attack against water protectors. The noise created by these pyrotechnic devices is in excess of the safe level under health and safety legislation. CS munitions are forbidden by Chemical Weapons Convention of which U.S. entry into force was 29/04/1997 but U.S. allows CS munitions domestic deployment despite causing severe pulmonary damage, miscarriages and significant damage to heart and liver.
