Yesterday there were 6,987 early voters at the Franklin County board of elections, a daily record which pushed the cumulative total over the 2012 record of 69,122. Total now stands at 70,168. With three more early voting days the end total should exceed 80,000 easily.
As for mail-in early voting, as of yesterday 152,328 ballots were accepted, compared to 152,097 at the same point in 2012, three days before election day. So that total is slightly ahead of track. But since mail-in absentee skews much more Republican, exceeding the 2012 total is not necessarily something devoutly to be wished!
