This hawk caught a bird for his lunch at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, and leisurely ate in a nearby tree as I watched. he watched me for a short time, then apparently decided that I wasn’t gonna steal his lunch. When he was done, all that remained were some bones in a tree and some feathers on the ground.
If anyone has an ID for the hawk, that’d be great (hawks all look the same to me, alas, and I always have trouble telling them apart.)
From the feathers, I *think* the “lunch” is a Mockingbird.
