I have been highly critical of the attempt to get the Electoral College to not vote for Trump, but last nights bombshell article from the Washington Post has changed everything. Now that the CIA has confirmed that Russia was deliberately trying to place their selected candidate at the head of the U.S. government, we are living in an unbelievably dangerous situation. This is nothing less than a Russian coup attempt.
Just stop and think of the weird set of things that happened in this campaign that Vladimir Putin couldn’t have been more happy about.
- Trump always supportive of Putin and never criticizing him.
- Trump threatens NATO
- Trump hires Manafort, a propagandist for Putin’s hand picked czar in Ukraine.
- Trump campaign says they want to suppress Democratic turnout, then Wikileaks starts publishing emails hacked by Russian agents.
- Russians hack RNC and release nothing.
- When media starts taking Russian hacking seriously just before the election, Comey violates all justice department protocols and causes media shitstorm about Clinton emails.
- Some of the most important things to Putin is oil and U.S. sanctions. He makes billions on oil. Trumps now leading candidate for Secretary of State is the CEO of Exon who received one of Russia’s highest awards and is a close personal friend of Putin.
I could go on but you should get the picture. So how does the Trump clan respond to the bombshell story, this tweet storm sums it up nicely.
So the Electoral College is all that stands between the U.S. being a fragile democracy and the U.S. being a puppet government of Vladimir Putin. There’s no way the Republicans are going to vote for HRC, but a compromise candidate like Evan McMullin would be acceptable. He’s a die hard conservative but he’s not a Russian agent and he understands the dangerous and fragile condition the country is in. From every interview I’ve seen of him, he honestly cares about our country and would try to unite the country, and he might be someone that could unite the Electoral College.
