Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator-Elect Maggie Hassan (D, NH) in support of U.S. Senators Chris Murphy (D. CT) & Debbie Stabenow’s (D. MI) re-election campaigns:
If 2016 taught us anything, it's that we can't be complacent and we can't take anything for granted. I know this firsthand — our race came down to only 1,000 votes!
The margin in our race proved that every last thing that this community did made a difference, and we need to roll up our sleeves again to make sure that Democrats hold strong in 2018. That starts with reelecting fighters like Senators Chris Murphy from Connecticut and Debbie Stabenow from Michigan.
Will you help us raise $15,000 before the end of the year for Chris Murphy and Debbie Stabenow by donating $3 or more now? We need your help to keep their strong, progressive voices in the Senate and stand our ground against dangerous policies that would pull us backward.
Chris Murphy was the Congressman from Newtown, Connecticut when 26 people — including 20 children — were senselessly murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Since then, he's been fighting to make our communities safer. We need to keep his voice in the Senate.
Debbie Stabenow has been a tireless advocate for Medicare because she believes that after a lifetime of hard work, our seniors have earned some peace of mind. Her re-election will be tough, and we need to make sure that she continues to represent Michigan in Washington.
Make sure we return these two progressive champions to the Senate by giving $3 or more to their campaigns before the end-of-year deadline.
Thanks for doing your part.
With every good wish,
Maggie Hassan
