Donald Trump has been fending off numerous lawsuits, all with one thing in common—he and everything that has his name on it is usually a scam of some sort. Back in 2012, Trump bought the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa. There were sizable refundable deposits from members. These members allege that the Donald tried to get sneaky (scam artisty) and change the rules concerning these deposits—in essence stealing somewhere around $5 million from the now-named Trump National Golf Club from some of its patrons. Obviously, Trump’s lawyers have been kicking the can down the road and hoping that being newly and unpopularly elected might give them a chance to throw the case out of court. The judge in this case had this to say—so sorry.
U.S. District Court Judge Kenneth Marra on Wednesday refused yet another request by Donald Trump to toss a 2013 lawsuit filed against his Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter.
The Dec. 7 order means the case continues against Donald Trump’s country club, even though Trump is set to be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States in January.
Back in July, Judge Marra dismissed a motion to throw out the lawsuit and also said the suit could continue forward as the class-action suit of 60 members it was filed under. You can read the original filing from 2013 here. Maybe if the Republican Party is so full of shit that it won’t investigate Trump for any of his clear conflicts of interest, at least the courts will show what a criminal scam artist he is.
