Canada’s much-loved Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is once again proving he is a leader for the people—and that includes all the people of Canada. Supporting the LGBT community, the Liberal Party trailblazer is set to participate in Toronto’s Pride Parade on July 3. This will be the first time a Canadian prime minister will have marched in the parade. The theme for this years’s parade will be “belonging and inclusion.”
Supporting the LGBT in Canada is not new for Trudeau. As leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, in August 2015, he marched in the 37th Annual Vancouver Pride Parade in British Columbia. As Liberal MP, Trudeau also walked in the 2012 Gay Pride Parade which was held in Montreal.
Trudeau, 44, has been cheered for many liberal deeds since taking office, including filling half his cabinet with women and welcoming Syrian refugees entering the country. (Toronto Pride Parade organizers are saying gay Syrian refugees will also have a place at the Pride events.)
Other Canadian political officials and dignitaries have also committed participating in this summer’s march.
