Samantha Bee did an extraordinary segment last evening on her new show, Full Frontal.
If anyone needs a way to explain to young voters why they need to get to the polls, this would be a really great starting point.
"If you didn't vote in 2010, you built that," Bee said on her show, Full Frontal, while pointing at a photo of Trump.
Bee argued that 2008—the year the first black president was elected—was not the most important election in modern times for Democrats. It was the midterm election that was held two years later.
The policies that will affect the next generations, are being decided by old white F*cks who think that everyone needs to stay on the road to destruction, as though the result will somehow magically change to good times. :)
I guess I am officially (almost!) in that “old white F*ck” category, but I think that young people need to be heard more and they need to take control of their own future. But unless they see a reason to actually participate, they will sit on their hands again this election.
"You know who didn't sit 2010 out? People who were old, and white, and super cranky about something."
Those conservative voters helped elect more Republicans to Congress, which led to the current gridlock in Washington, she said.
In the current media endorsed “frontrunners”, there really is no motivation for them to do so, just more of the same.
