Another Famous Vegetarian Woman:
"Pamela Anderson (Born July 1, 1967), is a Canadian model, actress and animal rights activist, and former Baywatch star. She has become known for her Animal Activism, and for pushing the edge of decency, in an effort to illustrate how indecent the slaughter of sentient beings is to her (and all vegetarians).
In July, 2010 Anderson's risqué advertisement promoting vegetarianism proved to be just a tad too sexy — even for the famously sultry City of Montreal.
The former Baywatch star, an outspoken animal-rights activist, was denied a permit to hold an event launching her newest animal-rights campaign.
In the advertisement, Anderson's bikini-clad body is covered with marks that mimic a butcher's diagram — with parts of her flesh marked up with words like 'breast,' 'round,' and 'rump.'…and the caption on the poster, "ALL ANIMALS HAVE THE SAME PARTS".
In a statement, Anderson called the move surprisingly puritanical... 'In a city that is known for its exotic dancing and for being progressive and edgy, how sad that a woman would be banned from using her own body in a political protest,' Anderson said." [CBC]

6) Toilet Seat Scale Tells You How Much Weight Is Lost After You Take A Dump
via OhGizmo
For those of you eating your breakfast when you read this, I apologize. How many times have you gotten done in the bathroom and feel like you’re ten pounds lighter? You know that feeling I’m talking about, when you’re convinced that you can now fit into jeans that are a size smaller than the ones you’re wearing. Well have you ever been curious how much of a load you just let off into the toilet? Well what you need my friend is a Toilet Seat Scale.
This concept toilet seat (I never thought I’d ever see a concept for a toilet seat) has a built-in scale. It is supposed to be designed for those keeping close tabs on their weight. However, we all know what this thing would get used for if it got put into production. There would be running tallies between friends to see who took the biggest crap. I’m just wondering when they’re going to get around to actually making this thing.

7) TRUMP DUMP
UPDATE: The Trump Supporter who was arrested for punching a BLM Protester as he was being escorted out of the rally, is being held on $2500 bail, and did not have the money to get out.
On February 1, Trump magnanimously invited people to punch protesters, and boasted that if they got arrested, he'd pay their legal fees, because they [the fees] wouldn't be very much, because the authorities agree with Trump. But, now that the exact same scenario has actually happened, Trump has turned his back on his supporter, and a Trump spokesperson put out an official statement saying that Donald Trump "had nothing to do with the incident."
The African American protester who was sucker-punched was on Lawrence O'Donnell last night and said that after he was slugged, the cops told the attacker to go sit back down. And brought HIM, the protester, who had been being peacefully escorted out of the venue, to the ground.
BREAKING NEWS: The number of anti-Trump protesters is increasing daily. Today, there were so many anti-Trump protesters outside the venue that Trump decided he needed to cancel the event. Upon hearing the news, the protesters carrying signs like "DUMP TRUMP" and "NO XENOPHOBIA", broke out into deafening cheers, and were gleefully dancing and chanting, "We Did It, We Did It".

8) *The Virgin Islands has a population of 106.000. They are the only place in the U.S. where cars drive on the left. They had a GOP caucus yesterday, to determine who will receive their 6 delegates and 3 SuperDelegates.
"Republicans in the Virgin Islands caucused into the night Thursday, and when they finished counting the votes Friday morning, the winner was … no one.
Party chairman John Canegata says all nine delegates from the U.S. territory will go to the Republican National Convention as uncommitted delegates. That makes them free agents, free to support the candidate of their choice.
Canegata says more than 300 voters cast ballots."

9) CANNABIS WATCH
"I use medical marijuana because my third eye has glaucoma." ~ Bill Maher
Marijuana Laced-Honey: The Bees Don't Catch a Buzz, But Can You?
"Somewhere in France, the man who calls himself Nicholas Trainerbees is harvesting honey produced by bees who feasted on marijuana. And he's starting to create quite a buzz.
The man who says he is an artisan, a locksmith, medical marijuana proponent advocate of marijuana legalization, and above all, a bee keeper, is being toasted as a visionary by some, even though are a few skeptics on his Facebook page and in the comments on early reports about his trained bees.
Yes, trained bees. According to Counter Current News, Nicholas, who says he has "been passionate about nature since childhood," has put in 20 years enticing the bees to collect sugars from fruits instead of flowers. Now, he says he's trained them to collect the psychoactive resin from pot plants.
'I have trained bees to do several things, such as collect sugar from fruits, instead of using flowers,' he explains.
'For some time I had known about the health benefits of bee products such as honey, propolis, pollen, wax and royal jelly and also about the benefits of cannabis,' he explained. 'Everything that passes through the body of a bee is improved,' he added.
'So if the bee took the resin from cannabis it would also be very beneficial. The aim arose for me to get the bees to obtain this resin.'
And he did, and they did, producing a creamy, yellowish 'cannahoney' with 'quite a floral aroma' and psychoactive effects—at least for humans, Trainerbee said
Not so much for the bees, though. When it comes to cannhoney, they're not flying high; they're just being good little worker-bees.
'The bees that produce the cannahoney are not affected by cannabinoids because they do not have an endocannabinoid system,' he explained. 'It’s just another form of food for them.’

10) In Bernie News…
Turns out that Bernie Sanders' Michigan upset might have been at least partially due to the biggest American Muslim community in the. United States, located in Dearborn, as well as a large amount of Arab American support for him throughout the state.
* * * * * * * * * *
"Three of Vermont’s 10 superdelegates announced Tuesday that they’ll vote for Senator Bernie Sanders at the Democratic Party’s nominating convention this July.
One of those superdelegates, Secretary of State Jim Condos, says Sanders’ showing in the Vermont primary cemented his decision to pledge for the Vermont senator.
'It’s unprecedented for a candidate to win their own state by such an immense margin,' Condos said at a press conference in the Statehouse early Tuesday afternoon. 'In a stunning show of support, Bernie also won every single town in the state.'
Essex Rep. Tim Jerman and Dottie Deans, the chairwoman of the Vermont Democratic Party, also said Tuesday that their superdelegate votes will go to Sanders. And Jerman, a member of the Democratic National Committee, says he plans to push for reforms to the controversial superdelegate system.
'I think we have to look at the delegate selection process the way it is,' Jerman said Tuesday. 'There were good reasons for the rules as they are, but I think the popular perception is there’s a group of establishment people that are somehow putting their hand on the scale, and I think that’s an unfortunate perception.'
Many Sanders supporters decried the decision of several Vermont superdelegates to throw their support behind Hillary Clinton, no matter the outcome of last week’s presidential primary.
Vermont has 26 delegates in all, 10 of which come from superdelegates. Four of those superdelegates, including Gov. Peter Shumlin and Sen. Patrick Leahy, have said they’ll cast their votes for Hillary Clinton."
[Shortly after Sanders' stupendous Vermont victory, former Vermont Governor, Howard Dean, also a superdelegate, tweeted this:
'@BernieSanders Super delegates don't 'represent people' I'm not elected by anyone. I'll do what I think is right for the country']
"Since Clinton failed to get 15 percent of the Democratic vote last week – the threshold needed to be eligible for a portion of the 16 at-large delegates – all the non-superdelegate votes will go to Sanders.
Jerman noted that the end result – a 22-to-4 delegate count in Sanders’ favor – is roughly equal to the proportion of the popular vote last week.
Jerman says he isn’t sure precisely how the system should be changed, but that he’ll “work to promote change at the national level."

"The big difference right now between Bernie Sanders and Hillary is that Bernie Sanders is shooting for the stars, even if the rocketship might blow up, and Hillary is almost like, 'Let's just fly to Akron, and get there in one piece.''' ~ Trevor Noah

11) Surprise! NSA data will soon routinely be used for domestic policing that has nothing to do with terrorism
“A while back, we noted a report showing that the “sneak-and-peek” provision of the Patriot Act that was alleged to be used only in national security and terrorism investigations has overwhelmingly been used in narcotics cases. Now the New York Times reports that National Security Agency data will be shared with other intelligence agencies like the FBI without first applying any screens for privacy. The ACLU of Massachusetts blog Privacy SOS explains why this is important:
What does this rule change mean for you? In short, domestic law enforcement officials now have access to huge troves of American communications, obtained without warrants, that they can use to put people in cages. FBI agents don’t need to have any ‘national security’ related reason to plug your name, email address, phone number, or other ‘selector’ into the NSA’s gargantuan data trove.
They can simply poke around in your private information in the course of totally routine investigations. And if they find something that suggests, say, involvement in illegal drug activity, they can send that information to local or state police. That means information the NSA collects for purposes of so-called ‘national security’ will be used by police to lock up ordinary Americans for routine crimes.
And we don’t have to guess who’s going to suffer this unconstitutional indignity the most brutally. It’ll be Black, Brown, poor, immigrant, Muslim, and dissident Americans: the same people who are always targeted by law enforcement for extra ‘special’ attention.”

12) Two Billion People Eat Insects and You Can Too
Crickets and other edible insects are delicious, environmentally sound and high in nutritional value.
"Edible insects have long been a part of the human diet and are commonly consumed as a food source in many regions of the world, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. It is estimated that two billion people currently consume insects as part of their diets. Insects may be an increasingly important source of protein because of the rising cost of animal protein, food insecurity, environmental pressures, climate change and population growth.
Edible insects often contain high-quality protein, vitamins, minerals and amino acids for humans.
According to the FAO, insects have a high food conversion rate; crickets need 12 times less feed than cattle, four times less than sheep and half as much feed as pigs and broiler chickens to produce the same amount of protein.
Crickets and other edible insects provide food at low environmental cost, contribute positively to health, and are abundant throughout the planet. Insects are extremely efficient at converting feed into food. While 0.454 kilograms (one pound) of beef requires 11.35 kilograms (25 pounds) of food, 0.454 kilograms (one pound of crickets) requires a mere 0.908 kilograms (two pounds) of feed.
Edible insects can also be more environmentally friendly than livestock. They emit fewer greenhouse gases and ammonia than conventional livestock and can be fed on organic waste streams.
Many companies are developing insect products because they can be delicious, healthy and sustainable.
Food Tank has compiled a list of companies and organizations that are leading the insect revolution. Go to alternet for links to each company.
All Things Bugs: All Things Bugs sells finely milled cricket powder, which can be used to make sustainable food products thereby improving food security and health.
Big Cricket Farms: Big Cricket Farms, founded in 2014, was the first American insect farm to obtain food-grade certification from the United States Food and Drug Administration and the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Their crickets are grown using organic and sustainable feed in Youngstown, Ohio and are raised exclusively for human consumption.
Bitty Foods: Bitty Foods makes cricket flour and cookies from sustainably raised crickets. All of their products are free of processed sugar and grains.
Bugsolutely: Bugsolutely touts crickets as the “protein of the future.” They sell cricket pasta made from crickets raised for human consumption in traditional Thai farms.

Eco Insect Farming: The Thai company located in Chiang Mai works only with local farmers and is fair trade and certified organic. Products include dried crickets and four different flavors of cricket flour.
Edible Inc.: Edible Inc. makes mealworm cookies, silkworm biscotti, energy bars out of grasshopper flour, nuts and bugs. The Seoul-based company was inspired by Korea’s food history and formed to increase sustainable eating practices.
Exo: Exo became a reality after a successful Kickstarter campaign by two Brown University graduates. The New York City-based organization sells protein and savory lunch bars made from crickets.
Gathr Foods: Gathr’s Crobar is manufactured in the United Kingdom and uses cricket flour from crickets that consume a diet of organic nuts, fruits and seeds. The 91 percent raw, high-protein bar contains about 32 crickets and is completely gluten-free, dairy-free, grain-free, soy-free and GMO-free.
Gryö: Gryö’s cricket bars are made by two cousins in France who wanted to create a product that was nutritious, sustainable and free of refined sugars, GMOs and preservatives.

I watch, read and listen to any number of different news and entertainment sources, and it’s more than anyone could possibly intake and retain in a day, so I created this little daily “cheat sheet” for myself, so that I could remember all these oddball facts. Then I decided to share these tidbits, and thus was born the Daily TILT. I do this for fun. I hope you enjoy it.
