Hillary Clinton has been getting lots of complaints from pundits over "shouting" during public appearances, meaning raising her voice to the same level that every other politician uses when speaking to a group. This has caused at least several of them to get the vapors.
Can't win for losing, apparently.
Fox News host Heather Nauert and guest Monica Crowley criticized the former secretary of state Wednesday for being “a little too calm” while delivering a foreign policy speech at Stanford University.
It seems to me that if there was ever a time to be calm, it might be when discussing foreign policy. Or perhaps it is a trick. Perhaps she is being too calm, in an effort to make Republicans look bad?
“Did you notice that calm and collected tone of voice right there? She said we needed ‘strong, steady leadership,’ implying the Republican candidates could not provide that,” Nauert said.
“She’s a little too calm,” Crowley said, before claiming President Barack Obama has been criticized for being “passionless.”
Don't shout, mind you. But don't be calm either. Don't seem angry because that will turn people off, but don't be not angry because people will accuse you of having no emotions.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz continue to bite the heads off squirrels and call it a foreign policy plan. Why can't Hillary Clinton be more like that?
