To the dismay of many, Donald Trump keeps winning caucuses around the country. After another successful election night, more Americans are seeking refuge in case the 2016 presidential candidate actually ends up in the Oval Office. Kalyeena Makortoff with CNBC reports that Google searches for “how to move to Canada” shot up after Trump’s latest victories. The most popular search destination was Canada's main immigration page which includes tips on working abroad in its 8-step guide for immigrants.
Last September, Trump told local reporters he would not build a wall between Canada and the United States (as he would with Mexico) because he "loves Canada." The admiration is not mutual by many, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who said he would respect the decision of the American voters, but he will not support Trump's tactics.
"I don't think it comes as a surprise to anyone that I stand firmly against the politics of division, the politics of fear, the politics of intolerance or hateful rhetoric," the prime minister added. "If we allow politicians to succeed by scaring people, we don't actually end up any safer. Fear doesn't make us safer. It makes us weaker."
Trudeau is proving to be one of the most liberal and lovable prime ministers of our time. Given the choice of between “President Donald Trump” or Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, many Americans wold choose Door #2, Monty.
