The Sanders campaign is still playing cat-and-mouse with Bernie’s family tax returns. Yesterday, April 15th, was “Tax Day” so it it made sense that the Sanders released their returns then. Except they decided to release 2014 instead of last year’s returns. What’s up with that? Jane Sanders used this year’s tax deadline as an excuse to delay releasing taxes, but then on the 15th the campaign put out a single prior year.
Jane Sanders was interviewed about this on April 12th and was very specific:
[Bernie] said to me “We have to answer this” and I said “Well, I was expecting that when they were due we would be releasing them...”
How about the prior years?
Well, sure. I’ll have to go back and find them. But, yes…

If Donald Trump or some other candidate said “Trust me, I’ll release them eventually, trust me” would you say “Oh that’s fine, there’s nothing in them, no problem” or would you say “We really need to see those”?
I would say “Well, when they’re due I would expect them to come out.” Now I have to tell you every other year I asked for an extension. But this year, we knew I couldn’t do that.

I’ll release this year’s as soon as they are due.
I’m going to give Mrs. Sanders the benefit of the doubt and assume that since April 18th is the actual tax deadline this year, the campaign will be releasing the 2015 Sanders family tax returns on Monday.
If not, at that point, I think it will be fair to question Jane Sanders’ honesty, and to state the obvious: that it looks like Bernie and Jane are hiding something.
