Hey, I already voted for Bernie in the Texas primary, donated as much as I can afford to his campaign and volunteered for him as well (until a small health crisis). But since all you Hillary Clinton supporters have asked time and time again let me publicly state this unequivocally:
If it becomes mathematically impossible (100% impossible) for Bernie Sanders to win the Democratic nomination for President of the United States I will:
-
Begin contributing financially to Hillary Clinton’s campaign. My contributions will be too small to be significant, but I will give what I can, where I can. I will be directing most of my contributions to progressives downballot but Clinton will get some gravy.
-
Volunteer as I can for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. This is really dependent on two things 1) my health and 2) I’m going to have to start a second job to pay medical bills, so time will be scarce as well.
-
If Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee for President of the United States, I will cast my vote for Hillary Clinton. Probably before November 8th. I like early voting and it frees me up to do GOTV.
Again, this ain’t starting until I’m fully convinced that there is a 0% chance of Bernie Sanders getting the nomination. That’s because of this:
I’d like to tell you the reasons why I am voting for Clinton if she clinches the nomination.

It is about fucking time we had a female president. You know who would have been a great female president? Victoria Woodhull. It was past due when she ran. What would have been great is if FDR had been succeeded by Eleanor Roosevelt — she would have been an EXCELLENT president. What about Representative Barbara Jordan? Governor Ann Richards? I’d have crawled through broken glass to have to privilege of being a part of putting Ann Richards in the White House. Yes, she was too conservative for me but God, she fought like hell! Miss her terribly. Seriously, if you are not familiar with these women, get to reading.
-
I have a daughter. She is 10 years old. If Hillary Clinton is the best I can do towards a better world for her, well, I have to what I can no matter how minimal it may be.
-
My Muslim and Latino friends, neighbors and coworkers. I work with a crew that is almost 90% Latina women. They know I am politically active so about a month ago I found myself sitting in the break room with six of them and they had a list of questions and concerns for me. They are all legal and they are all in fear of being deported anyway. They are in more fear for friends and relatives who don’t have jobs but are legal. And they are terrified for their friends and relatives who are not legal. It is very upsetting to have people you care about ask what will happen to their children if they get caught in a raid.
-
Hillary Clinton will actively protect and defend women’s reproductive rights. Despite the endorsements of NARAL and Planned Parenthood, Clinton still equivocates on the abortion issue saying she supports late-pregnancy regulation that would have exceptions for the life and health of the mother. To me, this issue is dead simple: women are autonomous human beings and should be able to make decisions about what to do with their bodies. Period. Full stop. But if Clinton is as good as it gets, well, I’ll take it.
-
Climate change. Frankly, Hillary Clinton sucks on this issue. Her plans are too damn little, too damn late. But if I were to be honest, I think Bernie’s plans, while better, are also too damn little, too damn late. However, as Bernie said, on her worst day, Hillary Clinton is infinitely better than ANY Republican.

Hillary Clinton is the most intelligent person running for President. I think Bernie is close, so is Cruz. But I’d give the edge to Clinton. She has one of the sharpest minds in politics today.
And now I’d like to speak my mind before this goddamn nightmare starts.
Whether or not it is intentional, the state of the Republican party has imported the Shock Doctrine from economics into politics — the other party is simply so goddamned bad that you have to support the candidate of the oligarchy simply to prevent all out fascism from occurring. Being a Texas Democrat (yes, a Bernie supporter who has been a part of the Democratic party — even been a Precinct Chair) I’m almost used to swallowing vomit when I go vote. Because in the 1980’s and 1990’s I definitely voted for some anti-LGBT monsters — because where my candidate merely wanted to discriminate, their candidate wanted to eradicate. Almost every candidate I vote for down in this hellhole is anti-union and supports right-to-work. Fuck, I donated to, volunteered for and voted for Representative Martin Frost who tried to run to the right of Republican Pete Sessions by painting him as soft on terror!
It is important to me to admit that Hillary Clinton does make mistakes. And when I go to vote for her, I’m going to print out and laminate a photograph of what her mistakes look like and take it with me into the voting booth with me to remind me that while I am clearly voting for the lesser of two evils, I am voting for an evil. I wanted to post the photo here but I cannot afford the license from Getty Photos. So go ahead… click through. you need to see what happens when our most probable next president fucks up.
That is what happens when you use Military force carelessly. Our most likely nominee is reckless, like Margaret Thatcher, looking for excuses to use Military force. You should remember that Photo when you vote. Because based on the candidates own policy statements that will happen again and again and again and we should consciously acknowledge that before we cast our ballots. Be honest with ourselves, even if we lie to our children.
The other point I’d like to make about supporting Hillary Clinton for president… she’s in the club; in fact she’s a twofer: a politician and an owner. Don’t think so? All you have to do is look at how she treats those who dare to question her. That’s what she thinks of us. Watch and learn:
To Sum Up:
Yea! I’m about to get on board, unless a miracle happens, which it won't. The real world does not work that way. The deck was stacked against Bernie from the very beginning. He is making an amazing, incredible run for it and I’m going to be there until the end. And afterwards?
I’m Ready For Hillary. I have my laminated photo of Samar Hassan covered in her parents blood and like a good salesman, I’ll have a smile on my face as I lie to voters about how their vote for Hillary will result in a better future for their kids with more opportunity, more education, a chance to live a decent life. Bullshit. Their vote in this election is to keep the United States of America as a nominal democracy with a functioning corporate oligarchy really calling the shots rather than as an actual religious fascist state (Cruz) or a actual corporate fascist state (Trump).
Thank you. I feel better now that I’ve said my piece. Hope your day goes well. I’m off to sell my labor to the highest bidder in desperate bid to pay off medical bills form procedures my insurance company claims are “experimental” despite FDA approving them in 2008 and Medicare and Medicaid covering them starting in 2014. It’s a great fucking feeling, paying for medical insurance with each check and then finding out it’s useless when you need it. Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a candidate willing to work towards a better system for everyone?
Oh, wait… we did and we pissed all over him because that wasn’t realistic.
What a goddamn crime. Listen to the sheep cheer her on as she tells them to lick the assholes of their corporate masters and be grateful for the crumbs they get.
But yeah… Ready for Hillary.
