About a month ago, the New York Times ran an article detailing the climate inside of the Trump campaign on the heels of the Donald’s national political director being fired—for being something a dung beetle wouldn’t roll. In that piece, there was this:
A sense of paranoia is growing among his campaign staff members, including some who have told associates they believe that their Trump Tower offices in New York may be bugged, according to three people briefed on the conversations.
Completely believable as we see day in and day out how thin-skinned Trump is about criticism. Today, there is yet another allegation that Donald Trump is every bit as sleazy and unscrupulous as you think he is—this time from Buzzfeed:
At Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach resort he runs as a club for paying guests and celebrities, Donald Trump had a telephone console installed in his bedroom that acted like a switchboard, connecting to every phone extension on the estate, according to six former workers. Several of them said he used that console to eavesdrop on calls involving staff.
Buzzfeed spoke to six former employees, two of which said the phones were rigged but not used nefariously, but in order to make it easier for Trump to call other rooms throughout the palatial estate. The other four said, no, he used it to listen in on people.
They said he listened in on calls between club employees or, in some cases, between staff and guests. None of them knew of Trump eavesdropping on guests or members talking on private calls with people who were not employees of Mar-a-Lago. They also said that Trump could eavesdrop only on calls made on the club’s landlines and not on calls made from guests’ cell phones.
Each of these four sources said they personally saw the telephone console, which some referred to as a switchboard, in Trump’s bedroom.
Every new piece of information we learn about Donald Trump adds to the mountain of data supporting how absolutely fantastic a guy he must be to work for and be around.
