If you were wondering how the final night of the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s speech went over with those establishment Republican types who have been fretting and worrying about Donald Trump … well, take a look below at some of the tweets last night from Rich Galen.
Galen used to be press secretary to Vice President Dan Quayle and then to House Speaker Newt Gingrich. He writes an online column now. He is enough of a partisan that he wrote a column back in 2001 about how Clinton Administration officials trashed and vandalized office during the transition to the Bush-Cheney Administration. He’s no RINO.
Galen last night was impressed — not so much out of any newfound love of Hillary but out of despair at what has befallen his Republican Party.
One that is especially telling is the one in which he replies to someone who says that Hillary’s speech was intended to appeal to Republicans and Independents — and Galen replies “If I’m any test, it’s working.”
Update: Edited title to better reflect that he was sobbing over the DNC messages overall.
