Hillary Clinton will win in a landslide
Recent polls have shown the Secretary leading by large margins. The largest being a McClatchy-Marist Poll which shows Mr. Trump losing by 14 points to Secretary Clinton, this poll also includes Gary Johnson and Jill Stein.
However, obviously, this will not maintain over the coming weeks of the General election. But the Secretary’s average lead of 7.5 points will continue to grow as Mr. Trump keeps on making incendiary comments and remarks. Many Republicans hope he will pivot or at least tone down his hateful, divisive, ignorant, and disrespectful rhetoric. But he will not, what you see with Trump is what you get with Trump.
And that will hurt him come November seeing as he is not attracting new voters and is only driving more people away from himself.
But that’s not even the worst part for Mr. Trump. There are still 3 Presidential debates and a Vice-Presidential debate to be had. Mrs. Clinton should and most likely will win these Presidential debates. She is a good debater and is far more knowledgeable than Mr. Trump on all policy matters and gives long, substantive answers. In contrast, Mr. Trump knows little on domestic and foreign policy issues, and only gives short, lacking answers, unless guided by a teleprompter. This will not look good for Mr. Trump when he is being outperformed by Mrs. Clinton in front of millions of Americans, which will only result in more declining poll numbers for him.
On top of this, millions of Hispanics are registering to vote in order to make sure the Republican nominee never steps foot in the Oval Office. This spells very bad news for The Donald, as his unavailability with Hispanics is at astounding numbers. But this is just a part of Mr. Trump’s much bigger problem with minorities.
In a poll of African-American voters, 94% of African-Americans view him unfavorably. And in an ABC poll, Trump is viewed unfavorably by 89% of Latinos/Hispanics. In addition, 64% of Asian voters view him unfavorably. In addition, the small but still notable Muslim vote essentially despise Donald Trump because of his racist and ignorant policies that are reminiscent of what Adolf Hitler did to the Jews in Europe.
These awfully low numbers will only be exacerbated in the coming months, as Mrs. Clinton will be capitalizing on Trump’s, often blatantly racist, remarks about minorities. That coupled with aggressive campaign ads will effectively end whatever minute chance Trump had with minorities. This will worsen Republican’s already strained relationships with minorities, because of their association with Mr. Trump.
And on top of all this, there is a civil war in the Republican Party. Prominent Republicans are rejecting party unity and are leaving the Party itself or endorsing Secretary Clinton. A few notable Republicans to do this are George Will, conservative columnist, who left the Republican party, Meg Whitman, who was the Republican candidate for Governor of California in 2010, who endorsed Clinton, and Richard Hanna, who was the first incumbent Republican congressman to endorse Hillary Clinton. And there are also Republicans who held their nose and endorsed Mr. Trump but only for the sake of party unity, such as Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. But history and American voters will not remember them for trying to unite their party only for endorsing Donald Trump.
In addition to this top Republican national security experts wrote and signed a letter denouncing Donald Trump’s foreign policy solutions and ideas. In the open letter, the GOP experts said Mr. Trump “lacks the character, values, and experience.” It then went on to say that he “would put at risk our country’s national security and well-being.” And that he“would be the most reckless president in American history.”
This is a problem when members of your own party are saying that you’d be a risk to national security. This should be a warning sign to Republicans and voters as a whole. And this letter and only further strengthens the anti-Trump rebellion within the Republican Party.
With all this opposition to Mr. Trump, you’d think it couldn’t get worse for him. But it can and just did. Enter: Evan McMullin, former CIA staffer and Policy director for House Republicans. He began his bid for the Presidency on Monday with one goal: Defeat Trump and give conservative Republicans a different choice on the ballot. Which is just what he’ll do in November. Taking away as little as 5% of voters in each state could just be enough for Trump to lose to Hillary in multiple states.
However, if Mr. McMullin wants to seriously take down Mr. Trump. It will take a few high-powered endorsements and campaigning from people like Mitt Romney or Ted Cruz, in traditionally conservative states.
But ultimately the final blow to Mr. Trump’s ignorant, hate filled quest to be President will be the question of whether or not he is mentally fit to be President. Multiple times during his campaign he has displayed signs of mental illness. Such as making grammatically incorrect statements or answers, going off into bizarre tirades, changing the subject of a question or a speech abruptly, or simply rejecting truth and his past actions and statements. These are telltale signals of somebody who could seriously be mentally unwell.
He has shown to be a narcissist and has a complete lack of self-control, and maybe even a lack of empathy; as he violated basic decency and human nature: attacking gold-star families, and really military families as a whole. And the aforementioned mental illnesses above are the same that some of the world’s worst dictators have possessed, which makes me fear a Trump presidency.
But one of the most disturbing of Mr. Trump’s potential mental illnesses is that him being a pathological liar. The Republican nominee has repeatedly made statements that were untrue and complete falsehoods. Just to review some of them: Claiming he saw a video of Muslims in New York City cheering during the 9/11 attacks, saying he saw a video of $400 million in cash being transported to Iran, saying he didn’t know anything about KKK David Duke, and the list goes on and on. Is that a trait that you want in a Commander-in-Chief?
The most important thing about this for Republicans who unified under him will be that their endorsement of Donald Trump will always be a stain on their political careers and reputation. Because once you support him you will always have that with you, no matter what. And this will follow and effect Republicans running for office and re-election all over the country for years to come. In short, this could probably lead to the Republicans losing control of the House and Senate.
In conclusion, the election will result in a landslide possibly on the scale of what happened to Barry Goldwater in 1964. This will happen because Donald Trump is the most unqualified, under-prepared, and unfit person to ever be the Republican nominee or to ever seriously run for President. He has completely lost the vote and respect of minorities due to his racist remarks, he does not know how to govern, lacks basic understanding of domestic and foreign policy, and most importantly he is mentally unfit to occupy the office of the Presidency of the United States and that is why the American voters, I hope, will elect Hillary Clinton overwhelmingly on November 8th.
