Alicia Machado, 39, who was crowned Miss Universe in 1996 while representing Venezuela, claimed Trump called her “Miss Piggy” after she started to gain weight.
Trump finally insisted that she lose weight, calling her "an eating machine" on Howard Stern's radio show. He took her to work out in a gym packed with media.
“She weighed 118 pounds or 117 pounds and she went to 160 or 170. So this is somebody that likes to eat,” he said at the time.
Now Machado is getting sweet revenge. A single mom, she’s been living in the U.S. for 20 years. Not only will she have her U.S. citizenship in time to vote against Trump on Election Day, she is campaigning (and canvassing) for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Her reasons were not about revenge:
“... after the primaries I realized I need to vote. I can’t invite my community to step up if I won’t do it myself,’ Machado said.
Here a one-minute ad showing sexist and disgusting quotes about women by Donald Trump.
Cheers to Alicia Machado for speak out against the bullying of Donald Trump, then and now — and for becoming a U.S. citizen. We welcome you with open arms.
