According to an interview he did with Howard Stern, Donald Trump might well have obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Stern suggested that Trump had OCD because of his frequent hand washing. Trump conceded that his hand washing “could be a psychological problem” but said that he had not had treatment for it.
Trump told Stern, “I do have germ phobia” and mentioned later that he prefers drinking through a straw when dining out.
The interview is available on YouTube (see from 4.15 in):
According to Fred Penzel, PhD, writing on the International OCD Foundation website, “OCD is chronic. This means that there is no cure. There is recovery though, and many have achieved it.”

According to a 2006 article in Today Entertainment:
“But I am going to do everything in my power not to shake hands with teachers,” notes Trump. “According to a new study, teachers have the germiest jobs. They have 17,000 germs per square inch on their desk. That’s ten times the germ rate of those in other professions.”
When contacted by The Scoop for a response, a spokesman for the American Federation of Teachers declined to comment.
Trump also says he avoids touching the first-floor button in elevators. “ It’s absolutely swarming with germs,” he declares. “In fact, I think from now on I’m just going to walk up to my office. It’s pretty high up there, but I could use the exercise.”
