Turning point park
Turning Point Park is a 112-acre wilderness setting in an urban environment. The term “Turning Point” has double meaning to the Charlotte residents nearby. Historically, the wide basin in the nearby Genesee River was a physical place where ships could turn around before encountering the Lower Falls. This was once a heavily used industrial area with ships visiting docks to load and unload coal, wheat, feldspar, paper boxes, and tourists.
