‘This is not Trump’s America!’: Passengers rejoice when man accused of racism is kicked off flight
And now, I’m going to throw out a shoddily written diary for tonight while streaming “Girlfriend's Day” on the old Netflix. Multi tasking, thy name is Last Minute Top Comments duty. Just kidding. Sort of. Maybe.
The next time you get a greeting card that touches your heart,

If you liked Mr Show with Bob and David and love quirky cameos and a good film noir spoof then you should watch
But first, a word from our sponsors ...

Dark humor is probably the first and oldest form of the expression. I don’t know. I’m not a scholar of early hominid humor. What I do know is that dark humor is my favorite kind. I don’t want to see the gallows but I vow to try to be funny as they slip the noose.
“Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence.”
- Oscar Wilde
I’ll take satire, but not irony. Irony is overdone.
I usually reply “I don’t think that word means what you think it means” in my head.
- John Webb
Anyway, “Girlfriend’s Day” ...
A few observations about this genre bending film:
- There’s a bit about “former racist” who will now f you up if you are “an elitist”
- “Everybody’s the same. That’s my motto!”
- I swear this is the best MacGuffin ever in the history of ever
- This movie is the Coen Brothers on acid as written by Joss Whedon
- And Stacey Keach does his Best. Villain.Ever.
- This is indeed the valentine’s day movie for our time
- And yes, that is Flo doing some moonlighting from the Progressive gig
Netflix and Chill
I love the pop phrases that we come up with to talk about sex. Think about it. From hook ups to gettin down, we have a long history of funny names to describe “The Nasty”. I know this is a family show, but this needed to be said.
Just an observation really.
By the way, The Unitarians Want to Prepare Us All for Hot Sex !!!!
Romance
For a great take on romance, you should watch the Valentine’s Day episode from the first season of Black*ish. Anthony Anderson is an amazing actor who has shown a tremendous amount of range over his career. Tracee Ellis Ross is somebody you should already know from Sisters, but her performance is worth every award she has received for this show. The show is everything you would want to see in the sit-com genre. The characters all have their own quirks and arcs which form the heart of the storytelling.
The Black*ish version of Valentine’s Day is a minefield and an actual battle. A metaphorical atomic blast ends one of the escalating arguments. It is the Valentine’s Day of real people living real lives who are doing their best to navigate the demands of the modern world. In short, the characters are real, believable, and sympathetic.
You should be watching this show.
Love
It’s really what the whole thing is about after all. So, to tie this all back into a nice DK themed ribbon. What are your favorite love stories that celebrate all the wonderful forms that love takes? What stories of convention defying love affairs would you like to share with the class?
Extra points for convention smashing love stories.

TOP COMMENTS
from your humble diarist:
The only Top Comment I have for tonight is that we all need to learn self care. Revving the engine past the red line for too long is dangerous.
Keep those cards and letters coming in. It’s the only way this works.
