I was working on the “M” diary for the Alphabet series and realized that I had a large number of entry candidates that were there primarily for having “Mountain” in their name. So I decided to break them off into their own separate diary. And here it is.
* — This particular example was not trophy hunted. It was hit by a car on a nearby highway and crippled. So it hid out in a culvert, was discovered, and had to be put down.
The Daily Bucket is a regular feature of the Backyard Science group. It is a place to note any observations you have made of the world around you. Insects, weather, meteorites, climate, birds and/or flowers. All are worthy additions to the bucket. Please let us know what is going on around you in a comment. Include, as close as is comfortable for you, where you are located. Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the patterns that are quietly unwinding around us.

Most of my photos from my trip to California in 2013 of mountains are either poor quality or very hazy. Had better luck with my close-up stuff.
* — Expecting at least one Bucketeer to immediately recognize the location.
