Long story short: in January I moved to SLC for a job without much of a plan, or anything else, for that matter. The idea when I accepted the job was that Mrs. BB would stay behind in Idaho until I could get us settled here, but that plan changed when she got a considerable promotion right about the same time. So instead of our original plan of being long distance for a month or two, we will be long distance for several months longer, while we determine who will keep their current job. This madness will end in June when we set the deadline for our decision, or at least that’s the plan now.
The other part of our plan was that I would travel home once a month and she would travel here once a month so that every other weekend we’d get to be together. That got upended last month when her schedule went haywire and other roadblocks on my side came up. So long story short, we have not seen each other once this entire month. (I’ve always hated March. It’s my least favorite month, and every single year it reminds me why.)
But this weekend is blocked off and our plans our settled. She’ll be here Friday night, and I've started counting the hours. We both celebrated over the phone when we crossed the threshold from triple to single digits.
I had another diary planned for tonight- this happens to be the anniversary of several significant milestones in my life. But I decided that it’s a rainy day, I am exhausted from Mondaying all day long, and as cathartic as writing about a few anniversaries would be (as much as I hate March, this day really, really hates me back), I’d instead write about the only thing I seem to be able to focus on, and that is that there is nothing but hours between my wife and me. As bad as today has been in the past, today I am ecstatic and happily anxious.
Now, on to tops!
