I don’t see Trump spending weekends in what has become the alt-White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. Mar-a-Lago is now his home away from the little mansion with all those portraits of presidents who actually were mostly sane.
He’s gotten alway, mostly, on shameless promotion of the Florida club. He’s also content with spending an unprecedented amount of money on weekend vacations in his first 100 days, more than any other president has ever spent in their first year on personal getaways.
Now my question is whether the King’s Crown Jewel estate/golf course will become the permanent weekend White House or will he use his comparatively small New Jersey Bedminster club instead?
This vital question led me to look up the typical summer weather in Palm Beach. My impression was that it might be oppressively hot. I was wrong. It seems to be great golf weather.
So it looks to me that the town of Bedminster can breathe a sign of relief.
Meanwhile, our unpresidential and unprecedented president has many golf courses where he can escape from rigors of actually working at being president — and presumably give them free publicity.
